"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us--for it is written, 'CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE'--
in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. " Galations 3:13 &14.
Why did I choose this verse to sum up a vast topic we discussed on Friday night? Well, remember how in Romans 11:18 it says, "do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, {remember that} it is not you who supports the root, but the root {supports} you." Paul really brings us down to earth with the reminder that we were saved by grace and nothing of ourselves. Remember we were not bearing any fruit as little wild olives- but we were grafted into the domestic olive tree. So when God (not Oliver) took us and stuck us in that notch it was not because we were so great, but because God is so great. So should we boast about the fact that we were chosen to be apart of the olive tree? ( here's the part where you, the little wild olives, answer!)
