Romans Review 2
Continuing the Romans Review, on February 29 (leap for joy, it’s a leap year :)) Ben gave these themes and key verses:
I must say, though, before I list the subsequent themes, that that picture of the body of death that was brought out when we were reviewing chapter 7 made a big impression on my heart. Anyway,
Chapter 8; a) Free from indwelling sin [verse 1] AND b) The love of God for a believer [verses 38,39]
Chapter 9; Israel has rejected Christ [verses 31,32]
Chapter 10; Israel needs the gospel and they will not hear without a preacher [verses 14-17]
Chapter 11; There is still hope for Israel [verses 26,27]
There was also the reminder of Romans 11:33-36 as a kind of summary, showing Paul praising God in light of Romans 9, 10 and 11. Now we go to application:-
Chapter 12; Apply doctrine in the church [verse 1]
Chapter 13; Apply doctrine in honoring (civil) authority [verse 1]
Chapter 14; Issues of conscience [verse 3]
Chapter 15; Continues with issues of conscience and then we see Paul’s desire to go to Spain [verse 24]
Chapter 16; Final greetings
Again, from each chapter, can you think of anything that made a big impression on you during this study?
It has been a blessed time in Romans. Now we go on to apologetics. What is the meaning of “apologetics” by the way?
PS: Remember to keep these dates open;
Saturday, March 29, 2008 – One-day Youth Conference
Friday and Saturday, May 16-17, 2008 – Youth Conference
